Dear Soroptimists and visitors,
Our June Dinner Meeting is next Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at Delancey Street Restaurant
600 Embarcadero (at Brannan); Valet parking is $4 flat
We meet from 6:00 to 6:30 pm for socializing, cocktails and appetizers. Our Dinner and the Program starts at 6:30 p.m.
Dinner cost $35 at door ($30 if you pay in advance quarterly)
Wine- $7 per glass (limited wine list)
We have two programs for June:
PROGRAM ONE: Emily Murase, Executive Director of the San Francisco Commission on the Status of Women (COSW), www.sfgov3.org, will tell us about the status of women in San Francisco and their work and projects, including Friends of the COSW, www.friendscosw.org.
The Department on the Status of Women aims to ensure equitable treatment and foster the advancement of women and girls throughout San Francisco through policies, legislation, and programs, both within City and County government and in the private sector, that focus on populations in need.
PROGRAM TWO: Joan Avigur, a Soroptimist from Beer-Sheva Israel, and our club's Friendship Link, will visit us. She has a photo presentation about Soroptimist in Israel and of the Bedouin women she works with, plus photos of a German Soroptimist Delegation visit to Beer-Sheva and photos of a tour showing a few more places where she has taken Soroptimists.
Dinner Choices:
1. Blackened Meatloaf with garlic mashed potatoes and glazed carrots.
2. Pasta Primavera (vegetarian: angel hair pasta in a light red sauce with fresh tomatoes, garlic, basil and asparagus)
3. Grilled Filet of Salmon served with light soy glaze served with sauteed vegetables..
Dessert is CHOCOLATE MOUSSE!!
