MEMBERSHIP QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
There are three classes of members:
(a) Regular Member: A member working in a profession, business or occupation of comparable status or responsibilities as those of a person working in a profession or business.
(b) Retired/Unemployed Member: A member recently retired or temporarily or permanently out of work from a profession, business or occupation of comparable status or responsibilities as those of a person working in a profession or business.
(c) Embarking Member: A member embarking on a profession, business or occupation of comparable status or responsibilities as those of a person working in a profession or business.
Note
In the United States and Brazil, because of public accommodation laws, men may be invited to membership. This option is not available to clubs outside of Brazil or the United States since Soroptimist International is a service organization for women in management and the professions.
CLUB OPERATING POLICIES
Effective 5-23-2008
PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS:
1. Members are expected to:
a. Attend scheduled business and program meetings of the club
b. Hold membership on club committees and participate in club activities and service projects.
c. Attend Sierra Pacific Region conferences, district meetings, leadership summit, and SIA conventions to the extent possible.
d. Promptly pay club dues
2. We acknowledge that each member of Soroptimist International of San Francisco has other commitments and obligations they wish to fulfill, and that there may be times when these commitments and obligations must take precedence over SISF activities. Each individual member is best able to determine the level and type of participation that they can manage. Soroptimist International of San Francisco wants its members to attend club meetings because they WANT to be there.
