Cheryl Grantano Rich
Secretary
I became a Soroptimist member in July, 2004. Over the years I held club offices (multiple times) of President, Vice President, Treasurer and Director and was also District Director. I always tell others I became a smarter President after the Treasurer experience. No, Treasurer isn’t a job I want again!
Though I’ve been retired (Assistant Library Director, South San Francisco Public Library) for some time, I manage to keep busy, and I still lead a Mystery Book Club. Trying new restaurants and traveling, along with reading are favorite pastimes. My love of mystery books has taken me to a convention for mystery writers and fans in the past two years that is held in different cities each time. It’s a great way to see new places and meet favorite authors and good for single travelers. My other big project (ongoing) seems to be my house. If it’s not adding solar then it’s replacing all the windows. It's always something.
I was born in San Francisco and attended several SF schools. With a strong connection to Soroptimist and to the city, joining SISF fits me at this time.

Carla Carvalho-DeGraff
Treasurer
Carla DeGraff is the Club Treasurer, and is a Past President of the club having held all of the positions on the club’s board since she
became a Soroptimist in 2007.
She has served on various Sierra Pacific Region (SPR) committees including budget and nominating, and is the past SPR Public
Awareness Chair. Carla is also a member of the Laurel Society. Soroptimist is her charity of choice.
In her professional life Carla retired from the Presidio Trust after serving seven years as its Chief Financial Officer, in the latter part of
her thirty-three year federal finance career.
After retiring she took a job with the City of Novato and is now serving as its Finance Director.
Carla holds a Bachelors of Science in Accounting and a Masters in Public Administration.
Her passions are parks and people. Especially other women and girls. There is a lot of work remaining to be done to help all women
reach equality. She loves Soroptimist because Soroptimist is part of making that change in the world.
